How long have you worked at Westec Plastics?
I founded the company on July 15, 1969.

What does your typical day look like?
My typical day has changed a great deal since January 1, 2016, as I went into semi-retirement and turned the company over to Tammy Barras. I still consult as needed and get a great deal of satisfaction out of seeing Westec succeed and continue to grow.

How has your career grown since starting at Westec?
I started as a hands-on mold maker and quickly began dealing directly with customers, vendors and employees. I found this very challenging but rewarding as all these things are extremely important to have a successful business.

What is your favorite part about Westec?
Being part of the success of Westec. I still enjoy helping with the solutions of part design, tooling and molding.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies/passions?
These have changed as the years have gone by. In my younger days, I enjoyed auto racing (SCCA). I then moved into sailing and enjoyed over 27,000 nautical miles. I sailed as far as South French Polynesia and up to Canada in the north. I’ve enjoyed building engines and restoring cars. I’ve now moved into RVing and enjoy seeing the US.
