How long have you worked at Westec Plastics?
Three years and eight months.

What does your typical day look like?
The majority of my day is problem-solving – any and all kinds of issues, questions or needs. My role includes providing my team with the necessary support to perform a task, answering questions from Q.A., production or another department. My typical day also requires continuous training on new customer requirements or changes in our procedures.

How has your career grown since starting at Westec?
I applied early in 2017 for a Quality Manager position. I clearly remember leaving the interview and calling my Mom super excited, and I told her: “I have to work there, we are the perfect fit.”

Unfortunately, I didn’t get it…LOL. A week later, I was called to interview for a Quality Coordinator position. I got the job this time and started on April 10th, 2017. My main responsibility was the ISO recertification, but instead, we moved to get the ISO 13485:2016 certification.

In the meantime, my boss, at the time, separated from Westec, and I was ready to go back to Tammy and ask her to give me an opportunity. After just a couple of days of consideration, I was promoted to Quality Manager in February of 2018.

What is your favorite part about Westec?
All the opportunities to learn. As a custom injection molder, each customer has different requirements allowing us to learn from their requirements. Our team is great and very knowledgeable, which makes my job easier and enjoyable.

Outside of work, what are some of your hobbies/passions?
After many years of not having a pet, I decided to get a dog. Cookie is a mix of an Australian Sheppard and a Border Collie. She is smart, sweet, active and always keeps us on our toes. I also enjoy podcasts. I listen to a wide variety, including everything from trivial things like “celebrity life’s” to real estate, TED Talks and some financial ones.

Do you have a favorite travel spot?
My hometown – Barranca de Otates Jalisco. All my family is still there.

In forty years, what will people be nostalgic for?!
The time we had with our loved ones but instead was spent on electronic devices.

How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza?

What part of a kid’s movie completely scarred you?
Pinocchio, when he transforms into a Donkey…so bizarre.

If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?
A Cat–they are rude already.

Toilet paper, over or under?
OVER, the way it is.

What’s the best type of cheese?
Brie.

What are the unwritten rules of where you work?

Black, No stress of combining and slims you out.

If you could change the ending of any famous movie, which movie would it be? What would your new ending be?
